Job Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage multiple SQL Server installations (Installation, performance tuning, maintenance)
- Perform variety of tasks, which include feasibility studies, system reviews, security assessments and long-term planning.
- Develop and implement disaster-recovery solutions
- Engage in user administration and operations support
- Installation and setup of system software/ middleware
- Ability to understand complicated designs and modify software efficiently and accurately
- Liaise with vendors and counterparts in the Asia Pacific region
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in softrware or Internet related fields
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on administration experience with Microsoft SQL and MySQL
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle will be considered
- MCDBA / MCTS / MCITP certifications will be a strong asset
- Positive working attitude, must be willing to adapt and develop oneself
- Able to work independently and be a good team player
- Excellent knowledge of SQL Server backup and restore strategies
- Strong busines analysis/needs assessment skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Driving licence will be considered a bonus
- Must be willing to travel overseas and remain contactable at all times to handle emergency system issues
